Listening Mothers
Listening Mothers is a small-group program for new mothers and their babies (up to 6 months old). It is designed to help new mothers adjust to parenthood, and is led by a trained facilitator for 1 1/2 hours each week for 8 weeks. Participants explore the complex range of emotions of motherhood. Topics include adjusting to the identity of being a new mom; how our own life experiences influence our parenting; how becoming a parent affects marriages and partnerships; emotional development of the baby; and parenting strategies. This program is offered in partnership with Family Services of King County.
Cost: $120 for the 8 week series.
Registration: Call (206) 275-0104 or visit our website at www.listeningmothers.org.
Schedule: Classes meet Thursdays at Gracewinds from 12:30 - 2:00 PM.
Program for Early Parent Support (PEPS)
PEPS believes that when parents connect kids benefit. We focus all of our efforts towards supporting parents by creating community. Recent studies indicate that in today's society, fewer parents have the advantage of neighbors and extended family to call on when they need help. PEPS works through advocacy, collaboration, and direct services to ensure that parents have the resources and community support they need to be successful.
Registration: visit our website at www.pepsgroup.org.
